We are very grateful to all those who have contributed towards this site, and especially to:

  • Marie-Louise McDermott for allowing us to draw on her PhD thesis on Australia’s ocean pools and her two forthcoming books about ocean pools, and
  • the photographers (especially to Marie-Louise McDermott and Ian McConchie) for allowing us to use their photographs.

In addition to the specific sources acknowledged on the webpages for individual ocean pools, some of the most valuable Australian sources of information for this project have been local government records and publications and metropolitan, regional and local newspapers. Access to digitised newspapers greatly assisted our research and we are immensely grateful for the access to Australian newspapers provided by the National Library of Australia’s  TROVE system and the access to New Zealand newspapers provided by the National Library of New Zealand’s Papers Past system.
