Natural pools. The only evident man-made improvements are the set of stairs with a handrail leading to the pool and the signboard erected by Shoalhaven City Council. These pools are not far from the wreck of the Merimbula and Currarong is the settlement nearest to the Point Perpendicular lighthouse on Jervis Bay

Location
Beecroft Parade, Currarong, NSW, 2540, Australia
(Latitude South 35 degrees 00 minutes 40 seconds, Longitude East 150 degrees 49 minutes 32 seconds)

Historical notes

Shell middens testify to a lengthy Aboriginal presence on the Beecroft Peninsula.

1899
The Point Perpendicular lighthouse on Jervis Bay was constructed in 1899.

1928
The S.S. Merimbula was wrecked when it ran aground on a rock shelf off Beecroft Headland.
